life lately.

So. This may be the point in the semester where my head might explode.

So instead of studying, I might be obsessed with this app for the iPhone called Rando.
Its premise is this: Take a random photo, get a random photo.
Some of the ones I took:

You send pictures, then by magic, you get some back. A lot of times they are things from countries around the world. It's a neat way to get a glimpse of daily life with no filter, no zoom, and nothing from your camera roll.
Download it here!

(You'll see why it's more fun than papers, or labs, or presentations, or finals)

the beginning.

The real question is always where to start.

As long as I've been following blogs I've had the idea for my very own swirling around in my noggin' of how and what and who and most importantly, why.

So.
          Here we are.

The name Under the Sun comes from Ecclesiastes. We recently just finished a sermon series on it from the beginning of the year, and it stuck.

" 'Meaningless! Meaningless!' says the Teacher. 'Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless.'  What does man gain from all his labor at which he toils under the sun?"
-Ecclesiastes 1:2-3

Here we are, living under the sun. Apart from God. What we do here on our own is meaningless. Our work, what we do, who we are. Our fame. Our desires. Meaningless.

What's the point?
The point is, that with Him, everything is flipped upside down - and living for him fulfills all needs and is what our souls were made for.
That truth is something that keeps me going. No matter how good or bad things may be going at that moment.

my fair city - sunset is close enough to under the sun, right?
